"As a monk, I support people who experience difficult circumstances such as illness or bereavement and I offer spiritual guidance. I also carry out religious ceremonies for Tibetan and Western people, for example, giving blessings at weddings. In addition, I teach the Buddhist philosophy at schools or to my students. Furthermore, I practice Tibetan sound healing with my singing bowls, just as others have for centuries."

My name is Lama Lobsang Topgyal and I was born in the Nemo Region in Tibet in 1974. I joined the Paralugbug Monastery in Lhasa when I was 15 years old to study Buddhist philosophy. The Chinese communist government who occupy Tibet are not very kind to Buddhist monks. Monastries across Tibet have been destroyed. There is no freedom of religion anymore. Like many other monks, I have also been imprisoned and tortured. I was forced to leave the Chinese repression. After a dangerous escape through the heart of the Himalayas,
I arrived in Europe in 2006. My new home is now in Cardiff, UK. I have had the chance to practice and learn Buddhism from my greatest lama His Holiness the Dalai Lama and some other great masters. |
Tibetan singing bowls produce harmonic sounds, and rhythmic vibrations. These sounds can positively affect your nervous system byslowing down your respiratory, brain and heart rates. In turn, this can help to reduce stress, to balance your chakra energy, to harmonise your spirit and to promote instantaneous healing. The use of these sounds can also help to clients think clearly, to be exhilarated, and to feel at one with the cosmos. Many clients feel that the mixture of sounds and vibrations can help them to experience profound meditative state, to feel at peace with a renewed sense of positive well-being. A session with singing bowls is integrated with biofeedback and visualisation to improve inner enlightenment. |
